Generally, a poker hand is five cards. The highest card in sequence wins. The highest card in the flush is the third highest card in sequence.
The first player to the left of the button makes the first bet. The dealer has the last right to shuffle. A player can choose to call or fold. When the first player calls, the betting goes clockwise until the entire group has made a bet.
If a player calls, they can raise the bet. If they choose to raise the bet, they must bet at least the minimum amount. They may also choose to pass. If a player folds, they discard their hand. They may also choose to match the bet.
When two players have a pair, they can compare them. If the two pairs are equal, the higher pair wins. When two pairs are tied, the high card outside of the pair breaks the tie.
A pair is a pair of cards of the same rank. Two pairs are compared by the highest and the lowest odd card. The higher card is the better pair.
If there are two pairs of equal rank, the second highest card will determine the higher flush. If there are two four of a kind of the same rank, the high card outside the four of a kind will determine the higher flush. If there are three of a kind of the same rank, a pair is the best hand.
